Privacy policy
The short version: Tab Nemo has no account, no servers and no analytics. Your data stays on your computer.

Who we are
Tab Nemo is a browser extension for Google Chrome (“the extension”) and this website, tabnemo.app. Questions about this policy: support@tabnemo.app.
What the extension handles
To do its job, the extension works with:
- Your open tabs, windows and tab groups: their titles, addresses, icons and state (for example, whether a tab is pinned or asleep).
- What you create in Tab Nemo: notes, reminders, projects, sessions, saved groups, parked tabs, rules and settings.
- A history of your open windows (Rewind), if you keep it on. Private (incognito) windows are never saved.
- Simple usage counts shown in “Your week” (for example, how many tabs you opened), counted on your computer.
The extension does not read the content of the pages you visit.
Where your data is stored
Everything above is stored by Chrome on your computer, inside the extension’s own storage. It is never sent to us or anyone else. We have no servers that receive your data, and the extension contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and loads no code from the internet.
If you choose a backup folder, the extension also writes backup files to that folder on your computer. If that folder is synced by a cloud service you use, that service’s own terms apply.
Optional features and permissions
| Feature | What it uses | When |
|---|---|---|
| History and bookmarks search | Reads your Chrome history and bookmarks to show them in search results, on your computer | Only after you allow it |
| Focus mode messages | Access to the sites you block, so the extension can show your reminder instead of them | Only after you allow it |
| GitHub app | Connects to api.github.com with a read-only token you create, to show your pull requests, reviews and issues. The token is stored on your computer and sent only to GitHub | Only if you connect it; disconnect any time |
The GitHub app is the only feature that connects to the internet, and only to GitHub. GitHub’s own privacy policy applies to that connection.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell, rent or share your data. We never receive it.
- We don’t use your data for advertising, profiling or credit decisions.
- We don’t require an account, email address or payment.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual items in the extension at any time, clear Rewind history in its settings, or remove everything by uninstalling the extension: Chrome then deletes all data the extension stored. Backup files you saved to a folder remain until you delete them.
This website
tabnemo.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process standard technical information (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.
Children
Tab Nemo doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the extension’s “What’s new”.
